Implenia now owns the equipment, which was used to pack a sub-ballast layer that was roughly 0.5 m thick and made up of material fraction 0\/90 that had been locally crushed from the coarser fraction. A grader scattered the debris that had been dumped along the railroad tracks by two to three dump trucks, and then a roller compacted it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Data_Collection\"><\/span><strong>Data Collection<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The machine was equipped with measuring tools required for recording engine data (CAN J1939), including those for engine speed, instantaneous fuel consumption, overall fuel consumption, etc. The data registration process took two working days, during which the driver was given specific instructions to collect comparable data but asked to drive &#8220;as usual.&#8221; The machine has a Dyn@lyzer for packing control, and this was running the entire time the measurement was being taken. After saving the gathered data, one can check to determine if the driver drove with the proper amplitude.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fuel_Consumption_Results\"><\/span><strong>Fuel Consumption Results<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fuel consumption test results showed a 36% fuel savings. The measurement&#8217;s overall fuel savings came to around 36%, which is quite close to the results of Dynapac&#8217;s own tests at Verk\u00f6 in February 2022.
