From 1st January 2024, all the <strong>heavy equipment holders<\/strong> will need to register and purchase machinery that supports zero emission theory.<\/p>\n<p>Industries that possess heavy machinery of up to 50 vehicles come under the category of high-priority fleets in North America. As per CARB compliance, these industries have to remove internal combustion equipment by 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the regulation abides all the fleet owners to purchase vehicles that are 100% zero-emission by the end of 2027.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Existential_Heavy_Equipment\"><\/span>Existential Heavy Equipment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The transition of heavy equipment to ZEV models can\u2019t happen overnight. Therefore, the regulation allows fleet owners to use their existential tractors, rollers, and dozers to reach 18 years of service with over 800,000 miles.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, fleets have around 13 years to eliminate used construction equipment having 800,000 miles logged.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ZEV_Milestone_Advantage\"><\/span>ZEV Milestone Advantage<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Fleets that fall under the category of high priority can take advantage of the ZV milestone choice. This plan gives contractors the margin of two decades to replace their used heavy machinery.<\/p>\n<p>However, fleet managers need to hit the compliance parameters set by CARB and ACF.<\/p>\n<p>The fleets are mainly distributed into three groups that are as follows;<\/p>\n<p>The first group has trucks, tractors, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-equipment.com\/blog\/2024\/01\/how-my-equipment-eases-the-process-of-buying-used-heavy-machinery\/\">delivery heavy machinery<\/a>, and vans. Such fleets need 10% of their total equipment to be zero-emission by 2025. For the coming years, the percentages will be;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>25% by 2028\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>50% by 2031\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>75% by 2033\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>100% by 2035\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The second milestone group includes work trucks, used tractors, and buses with three axles. These fleets have to oblige to complete zero-emission status with the following percentage;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>10% by 2027\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>25% by 2030\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>50% by 2033\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>75% by 2036\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>100% by 2039\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The third and last milestone group includes specialty equipment and used cab tractors. These fleets must abide by the zero-emission percentages that are as follows;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>10% by 2030\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>25% by 2033\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>50% by 2036\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>75% by 2039\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>100% by 2042\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Are_The_Future_Funding_Prospects_Of_CARB\"><\/span>What Are The Future Funding Prospects Of CARB?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It may cost heavily on pockets if contractors buy zero-emission heavy machinery.
