Lendlease Military Housing Project

Lendlease, an Australian-based global real estate manager and developer, is going to take on the construction of the U.S. Army’s first new privatized housing project in thirteen years. The project is part of Lendlease’s strategic transition to less risky investment and management approaches, triggered by the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative includes the Cadence Communities portfolio, featuring 60 apartment units, 475 newly constructed residences, and 345 newly privatized family units across seven Army locations. The $110 million project in Doral, Florida, will provide reasonable housing options for SOUTHCOM employees, with construction set to start in late 2023.

Westville Correctional Facility in Indiana

Historically Expensive State Project

Indiana has initiated construction on the $1.2 billion Westville Correctional Facility, marking the most expensive state-building project in the state’s history. The project, managed by the Build Westville joint venture, includes Granger Construction, F.A. Wilhelm Construction, and Garmong Construction Services. The prison will accommodate a wide range of facilities, including program services, security, medical, food services, recreational areas, and administrative offices. Key components of the project include 16,000 square feet of classroom space, vocational training rooms, 400 beds for addiction treatment and mental health services, two indoor arenas, and an integrated power plant.

Five-Story Healthcare Facility, New York

An incredible construction project won by Turner Construction to build a healthcare facility in Westchester, New York. The project has a total budget of $186 million to construct a five-story hospital building having 96 additional hospital beds to accommodate more patients at times. An open windowed ICU room is also in the project planning to build to get the natural light directly. According to the confirmed sources, the construction is likely to begin at the end of the year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. Along with all the structural benefits of this long tower building, the project will open the way for 250 construction jobs and 127 full-time in-house jobs.

Utah Highway Widening

Reconstruction of highway near Salt Lake City

A California-based construction firm named Granite Construction managed to win the project of $45 million to widen and upgrade the highway in Utah. the highway situated on State Route 108, Davis County, Utah. The project aims to widen the road from a three-lane to a five-lane broad road which will be more acceptable for the traffic to flow smoothly. the project components involve the construction of 10,000 linear feet of storm drainage system, 7,000 linear feet of irrigation infrastructure, 2,000 linear feet of water main infrastructure, and 2000 linear feet of sewer main installations on the road. Granite Construction started the project in October 2023 and is most likely to complete it in November 2025.
