Case Has Launched New Electric Mini Excavator With More Power And Latest Features

The new CX25EV is one of Case Construction Equipment’s most capable models to date. The company has been steadily increasing the range of electric equipment it offers. With a 32.3 kWh battery system, this 2.5-ton mini excavator performs on par with a diesel machine with 34 horsepower. 

Case is clearly positioning the CX25EV as a viable choice for contractors operating in urban areas, residential neighborhoods, and enclosed workspaces where diesel engines are becoming more challenging to use by combining well-known digging power with low noise and zero emissions.

How is the performance of this new excavator?

The CX25EV is unique in that its operation is very similar to that of a conventional compact excavator. It performs the same kinds of tasks that contractors typically anticipate from this size class, with an operating weight of 5,159 pounds and a digging depth of 8 feet 5 inches. The bucket digging force exceeds 3,500 pounds, which provides sufficient strength for trenching, indoor demolition, landscaping, and utility work. With a short radius and variable-width tracks, the case also kept the machine small, allowing it to fit comfortably into small areas without sacrificing reach or stability.

Is it compatible with attachments and controls?

Case ensured that the CX25EV is compatible with the same attachments as its diesel mini excavators in the D Series. This means that contractors won’t have to replace their current buckets, thumbs, grapples, or breakers, making the switch to electric equipment easier.

Is it easy to charge for a maximum run?

Depending on how much the machine is used, battery life can range from four to eight hours. Pauses during work are a natural part of many compact excavator applications, which helps the battery last through a typical shift. Operators have two options when it comes time to recharge: they can use the on-board charger and plug into a standard 240V outlet, or they can switch to a fast-charger setup that reduces the charging time by half. Without significant infrastructure for charging, this flexibility makes it simpler to incorporate the CX25EV into current jobsite procedures.

It needs less maintenance with increased warranty

Compared to diesel machines, electric machines have fewer moving parts, and Case made the CX25EV’s primary service points accessible. 

Owners can anticipate easier maintenance and possibly lower operating costs over time if they don’t have to worry about engine oil, fuel filters, or exhaust components. Case offers a two-year or 2,000-hour warranty on the machine and a three-year or 3,000-hour warranty on the electric system, which includes the motor and battery, to boost confidence in this new platform.
