According to that report, the top OEM data has been up for public review. The report shows that despite the unstable and tough market conditions, some top equipment brands maintained their pace in the industry by selling quality equipment to their customers.

How did the equipment sales continue to rise?

In the May–June 2025 issue of International Construction, the Yellow Table shows that the top 50 OEMs in the world made a total of $237.6 billion in sales last year. 

That is only 2.39% less than the previous edition’s record-breaking $243.4 billion, which is the second-highest amount ever recorded.

That slight drop isn’t particularly concerning; rather, it shows how resilient the sector has been to supply chain changes, high interest rates, and economic downturns. 

The demand for construction equipment has remained high in many regions, particularly Asia and North America, due to investments in energy, infrastructure, and large-scale housing projects.

Top OEMs that performed well in the industry

Caterpillar construction equipment comfortably leads the market with more than 16%, demonstrating once again why it remains a dominant force worldwide. Komatsu and John Deere are also steadily climbing, while Chinese behemoths such as XCMG and Sany remain in the top five, owing to strong domestic demand and aggressive global expansion.

How did Asia become at the forefront?

With 44.3% of the total sales, Asian manufacturers once again held the largest geographic share. 

That is a clear sign of China’s ongoing supremacy in the manufacturing industry, which is dominated by companies like Sany and XCMG.

European OEMs, on the other hand, made up 27.9% of the market, with Liebherr, Volvo CE, and JCB exhibiting consistent performance. 

The steady strength of Cat Construction Equipment and John Deere was the main driver of the 27.5% contribution from North American companies. The rest of the world, including emerging markets, accounted for just 0.3%, indicating that there is still room for growth in underrepresented regions.

What should buyers do in this critical situation?
